MARATHON MAN

well i managed to complete the marathon in a time of 5hours 20mins and 31seconds which for a first time is not too bad especially when i beat 5 times olympic gold medalist Sir Steve Redgrave by just under 9minutes (we wont mention how many times he had to stop to give interviews!!!).

The experience was amazing and if anyone is thinking of doing it go for it. I wore my batman t-shirt which meant the crowds the whole way round cheered "come on Batman" or sang "dinna dinna dinna dinna, dinna dinna dinna dinna BATMAN" although when you are exhausted after 20mile this was more annoying than helpful but still glad for the support. In all honesty i could have ended up giving up if it wasn't for my boss seeing me at 20miles walking and then encouraged me to keep moving.

I did appreciate the call from Mum and Dad just before the finish so they got to see me over the finish line on TV.
