Keep On Running

I am running in the London Marathon this year and all though i am extremely unfit i am sure in 13 weeks time i will be a lean mean running machine... well at least be able to walk around the course. Part of my entering is that i am trying to raise over £500 for Salmon's summer programme. This is so we can put on several activities for the young people of Bermondsey in the summer holidays.

Anyway if you can sponser me it would be most helpful.

Hello Marathon Man.

I think what you are doing for young people is great. Why not make it easy for us to give you money by using something like:
http://www.justgiving.com/

Also, whilst I'm here I thought I would give my opinion on one of your previous posts called "Money, Money, Money".

You said: "Anyway it really made us realise just how much we worry about money when really there are so many more things to worry about in life."

I totally agree with you. (Bet you didn't think you would hear me say that). Well...kind of. I don't agree with "worrying" about anything...it's energy draining and non-productive.

However, if you don't have money for essentials you DO spend time thinking/worrying/working out how to pay the bills and other mundane things. If you had enough income from assets to cover your expenses you could free up your mind to concentrate on solving more important issues, the things that REALLY concern you. AND you could dedicate as much time as you wanted to solving those concerns.

Just think, you would only need an asset base of £600,000 (what's that...1 buy-to-let flat in London?) producing a 10% return annually to be making £60,000. And if you tithe then you could give £500 to your cause EVERY MONTH...without having to run 26 miles.

Anyway, I'll leave you with that little food for thought. We can discuss it further after your jog.

Good luck on the day.
